Personal Encounter Protocol Training  NEW!
At Baby TALK, we use every opportunity to grow in our understanding about families, their unique needs, and the ways in which we can come alongside them. Over the past year, the Baby TALK Faculty has been developing a Baby TALK Personal Encounter Protocol: an innovative new approach to recognizing the incredible opportunity we have in working with parents and children. This process consists of many new elements and areas of focus, including: preparation, assessment, affiliation, observation, reflection and documentation.

Baby TALK's new Personal Encounter Protocol Training is useful for any one-on-one encounter with families including home visiting, and interactions at clinics, hospitals, or other program settings. Participants receive the complete Baby TALK Home Visiting Curriculum.

Over the past several months, we have implemented this protocol within our local organization in Decatur, IL, and have met with tremendous success. One Baby TALK Teacher said of the new Personal Encounter Protocol: "The Personal Encounter Protocol prompts me to ask more open ended questions and to listen and observe infants and parents in a more intentional way." Another Baby TALK Teacher writes: “For me, the Personal Encounter Protocol has become more about developing a relationship with the parents, rather than impacting knowledge. Hopefully the parents come away with the idea that Baby TALK is here to be an on-going resource, rather than a one-time conversation.”

This 1-day Training is $200. Click here to download registration form.

Note: this Training is intended for professionals who have completed Baby TALK Professional Development Training and are currently using the Baby TALK Curriculum.
